More press is even better.

A local NYC paper had this to say about the DanceBreak 2007 Feb 12th showcases.

More press is even better.

What it did not say was that this was the largest audience DanceBreak has ever had. Whereas, 6 years ago, there were 150 people in "the house" for three showcases, there were 750 people this year for just two. It was 'sold out' for both times and SRO at the 6 PM performance.

We had in the audience more producers, more directors, more agents, more theater professionals of every category, both well established and emerging than any prior year. We were also happy to be able to welcome more future DanceBreak applicants, more students from both AADA and Julliard and, of course, more of our friends and families.

The choreographers all did brilliantlly and the feedback has been nothing but positive. As with past years, everyone has their favorites, and that is exactly what we want to hear. It was diverse and something for everyone's taste. We expect to see great things from this years six, applaud their acheivements and thank them for all their efforts.

We also want to, once again, thank the 60 dancers for their amazing work. Every year! These are, without a doubt, the top dancers in NYC, (and therefore the planet) and they do so much to make our choreographers look as good as they do and in as short a rehearsal period as is permitted. Thank you!!

We want to thank Andy Blankenbeuhler for making a wonderful introductory speech at the 6 PM performance telling the audience a bit about his journey from DanceBreak 2002 to his current great successes, both with Apple Tree on Broadway and In the Heights at 37 Arts. We congratulate him on not only both of those wonderful acheivements, but on his personal happiness as well.

We welcome to the DB Alumni Baby Club... young Luca Stephan Blankenbeuhler. Congratulations, Andy!

The sizzle reel for this year as well as the videos of the interviews with the choreographers is coming soon.

Stand by.
